There have been humans living on Earth for about 3
[ 10/19/2005 04:01 PM ] - karmagonnagetya

There have been humans living on Earth for about 3,000,000 years.
In our culture, what we are taught of history begins 10,000 years ago.

10,000 is 00.3% of 3,000,000.

That means that for 99.7% of human history, we lived without overpopulating the entire planet.

That means that for 99.7% of human history, we lived without poisoning our water and soil until they gave us cancer.

That means that for 99.7% of human history, we lived without wiping out millions of other species from the community of life.

That means that for 99.7% of human history, we lived without telling ourselves that we were the "Shepards of the Land".

That means that for 99.7% of human history, we did not believe that "The Earth was made for Man, and Man was made to rule it".

That means that for 99.7% of human histoy, we didn't live like this.

That means that 99.7% of human history is ignored by our cultural teachings.

That means that in 00.3% (less than 1/2 of 1%) of human history, we have managed to overrun the planet, so that we are now living on top of each other, riddled with mental disorders, choking on poison, and laying waste to everything in our path as we fly full-throttle towards total destruction, and the extinction of every species that is not human, or human food. Of course shortly after that the extinction of the humans and human food follows.

I think at this point in the conversation, the logical question would be,
"What happened 10,000 years ago that caused all this?"

The answer is simpler than you might think.
