About Me
In short, I'm vegan, liberal, Buddhist, an environmentalist, pacifistic, a feminist; pretty much your run-of-the-mill greenie.
I love politics, and this I'm a Political Science major with a double minor in journalism and philosophy at Western Carolina University. Previously I had wanted to major in British history, but, even though I still love history, I really don't think it would suit me. I've always been obsessed with politics, even to the point that I would watch CNN rather than MTV in middle school. Politics fascinate me. Politics is everything.
Animal rights is a major area of my life. When I was in 10th grade I stopped eating meat, and in the summer of 2006 I went vegan. I've never been happier. Animals deserve our respect and compassion, and I hope I can find ways of giving it to them during my lifetime.
The environment also plays a big role in my life. I find it hard to belief that there are some people in the world who seriously couldn't care less about the state of our world eco-wise. As a Native American proverb says, "We did not inherit the land from our fathers. We are borrowing it from our children." Future generations are going to have to live with what we've done to this planet, and I feel terrible for them. There's so little in this world that hasn't been exploited. Where I live, you can't even walk through the woods without finding trash or hearing cars pass by.
