| Personal Website | http://oliviashakesthingsup.blogspot.com | | About me | Olivia likes: Crafting (esp. needlecrafts), animal rights activism, freeganism, all things vegan (food, blogs, podcasts, culture, clothes, being nice to animals--the whole bag), karaoke, azucar, daydreaming, writing, drawing, eating, drinking cheap beer, dancing with The Ladies, tattoos, reading graphic novels, reading cookbooks, reading random how-to books, watching HGTV for hours. | | Favorite music | I've found lots of great music through the Black Rock Coalition. My favorite band right now is Arts and Sciences.
I like: HomoHop (queer hip hop), Ani DiFranco, Patsy Cline, Jill Scott, Peaches, Le Tigre, Moldy Peaches, Alix Olson, Weezer, The Strokes, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The White Stripes, Bitch and Animal, The Wu Tang Clan (first album), Mary Timony, The Fugees, Rail Road Jerk, Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, Soce the elemental wizard, Bikini Kill and the rest of the riot grrrl music of my youth--Bratmobile, Heavens 2 Betsy, etc., anything that makes me remember the fun stuff about high school--Halo Benders and anything else out on K records in the late 90's, Sonic Youth, Govn'r, Pavement, all things of the Matador Records late 90s persuasion. | | Favorite movies/tv | Benny & Joon, Citizen Ruth, Election, Amelie, Chuck & Buck, Soylent Green, Planet of the Apes (the full series), Mommie Dearest.
Strangers With Candy is brilliant, as is Freaks and Geeks. The Dave Chapelle Show makes me wanna shoot soymilk out my nose. Reno 911 and Mr. Show are fun too. Arrested Development is a new favorite.
Guilty-pleasures? The L Word, Work Out, Project Runway, What Not to Wear, and Freestyle. LOGO, TLC, and HGTV networks rule my unemployed world. | | Favorite books | sure, sometimes. | | I've traveled to | San Francisco, the Dominican Republic, the Bronx, and across the country with PETA2 to promote veganism on the Roots Rock Reggae Tour in '04. | | Looking for | A diversion from my misery. Kidding. How about good clean fun and Bible study? |

About Me I'm a gay vegan blogging and crafting machine who hails from Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn where I live with my partner Jessica and ourr kooky cats: Linus Harper, Lola Dixie, Lucinda and her kitten Marty.
My favorite activities are daydreaming, eating, drawing, reading graphic novels and how-to books, writing, crafting, baking birthday cakes, making cards for friends, and dancing at house parties. I'm also a lover of squirrels.
I became vegan in 2002 after reading Why Vegan and believe that getting information and a good, simple homemade vegan meal to the entire world is the path to animal liberation.
I do a fun website with my friends called SuperVegan--you're gonna wanna visit if you're vegan and/ or you live in NYC.
I would like to meet Crafty types, art geeks, vegans, sugar addicts, fellow cheapskates, party animals, and (of course) Neil Diamond.
